Testing Window
Pivot Garage Field Tests typically cover 3–8 rounds of on-course play.
This window allows for meaningful observations across different conditions without presenting the evaluation as a final verdict.
Performance is documented, not finalized.
What Field Tests Measure
Field Tests focus on real-world playability and early performance indicators.
Common observations include:
• Launch and flight characteristics
• Distance control and gapping
• Miss patterns
• Turf interaction
• Feel and sound feedback
• Shot shaping response
• Confidence during play
These insights help identify how a product behaves during real rounds, including imperfect swings and non-ideal lies.
Testing Conditions
Field Tests are conducted under normal playing conditions.
No controlled simulator environments.
No perfect practice scenarios.
Equipment is evaluated during:
• full rounds
• real course conditions
• typical player fatigue
• real scoring situations
The goal is to observe how equipment behaves when golf is actually being played.
What Field Tests Do Not Do
Field Tests are not long-term certification programs.
They do not:
• assign PPI scores
• award Pivot Garage certification
• replace the 25-Round PPI Audit
Only the PPI 25-Round Audit can determine certification status.
Editorial Independence
Submission or participation in Field Testing does not influence PPI certification decisions.
Products reviewed in Field Tests may never enter a PPI Audit.
Evaluation outcomes are determined only by performance observed during testing.
