Round 1 (Initial On-Course Performance)

The Cobra DS-ADAPT X 7 wood is officially in the bag.

Round 1 is in the books, and while it’s early, the first impressions are clear:

This thing is incredibly easy to hit.

Round 1 Usage

I used the 7 wood three times during the round, all from different situations:

• Fairway approach
• Slightly imperfect lie
• Longer approach where height mattered

That’s enough to get a feel, but not enough to draw conclusions yet.

First Impressions (What Stood Out Immediately)

1. Effortless Launch

The first thing you notice is how easy it is to get the ball in the air.

No forcing it. No perfect strike required.

The ball launches high naturally, which makes it:

• Easier to hold greens
• Easier to trust from longer distances

2. Forgiveness Shows Up Early

Even on less-than-perfect contact, the ball still got up and out.

That’s a big deal for a club in this part of the bag.

You’re not relying on perfect swings and you’re getting playable results.

3. Surprisingly Easy to Shape

This stood out more than expected.

For a club designed to be forgiving, it still allowed for:

• Slight shot shaping
• Controlled ball flight

That balance equals forgiveness + control. It’s what makes this interesting early on.

What This Means (So Far)

After one round, the takeaway isn’t distance or numbers.

It’s usability.

Early Verdict (Round 1)

Too early to judge long-term performance.

But as a first impression:

• Extremely easy to hit
• High, playable launch
• More workable than expected
