Cobra King Wedges Review – Round 1 (Raw Finish, Spin Control & First On-Course Performance)
Round 1 is in the books with the Cobra King raw wedges.
First takeaway:
The performance showed up immediately.

Round 1 Context
This was the first full on-course test using:
- 50° / 54° / 58° setup
- Raw finish heads
- MMT shafts
Usage broke down like this:
- 58° → around the green / creativity
- 50° & 54° → primarily full swing approach shots
This gave a solid first look at how each wedge performs in its intended role.
Raw Finish (Early Observation)
One of the biggest questions going into this test:
– How quickly will the raw finish start to rust?
After Round 1:
- No visible rust development yet
- Finish still looks clean
- No early wear patterns
That’s expected this early, but it will be tracked closely.
Because over time, this is where raw wedges start to separate.
58° – Spin & Short Game Performance
This is the go-to scoring club.
And right away:
– Spin control showed up
- Able to hit shots that check quickly
- Ball reacts on the green as expected
- Gives confidence to be creative around the green
When you’re inside scoring range, you need the ability to:
– Stop the ball on demand
And through one round, the 58° delivered that.
50° & 54° – Full Swing Performance
These were used primarily for approach shots.
Early impressions:
- Ball flight was controllable
- Able to hit desired trajectory
- No issues with launch or height
Once the ball hit the green:
– It behaved exactly as expected
No surprises. No inconsistencies.
That’s what you want from full swing wedges.
The One-Clubs Short Game System
Flight & Trajectory Control
One thing that stood out early:
– The ability to flight the ball
- Can control trajectory
- Can hit different windows
- Doesn’t feel locked into one shot shape
This is especially important as conditions change.
And it’s a strong early indicator of versatility.
