The Bad
No product is perfect, and long-term testing is where weaknesses begin to appear.
Hills Can Still Be Challenging
If your home course has significant elevation changes like mine does, this is the biggest drawback.
The anti-tip wheelie bar generally works well, but on steeper climbs the cart can lean back onto the wheelie bar.
When that wheel catches the ground, it can occasionally flip the entire trolley backward.
I’ve experienced this several times.
I’ve learned to stay much closer to the cart on steep hills instead of allowing it to travel well ahead.
Golfers who primarily play flatter courses may never encounter this issue, but it’s worth mentioning.
Weight and Overall Size
Electric trolleys simply aren’t as convenient to transport as traditional push carts.
Although the M7 folds nicely, it’s still a fairly large and heavy unit.
Loading it into the trunk after every round isn’t difficult, but it’s certainly not effortless.
That’s simply part of owning a remote electric trolley.
Not Every Golf Bag Fits Properly
One issue I didn’t fully appreciate until using the M7 for an extended period is that not every golf bag works equally well with the Motocaddy.
If your bag is slightly undersized or has a narrower base, it may not sit securely on the trolley.
Over uneven terrain or small bumps, the bag can gradually rotate on the trolley, and in some cases it can even shift enough to come loose or fall off.
It’s something I’ve experienced more than once with bags that weren’t designed specifically for the Motocaddy system.
Using a Motocaddy-compatible bag virtually eliminates the issue, but if you’re planning to use an existing golf bag, it’s worth making sure it fits properly before purchasing the trolley.
